BWSF Supports Program Celebrations as Summer Comes to a Close

BET Expo and Back to School Event

[8/16/2025] Black Women in Sport Foundation in the Community: BWSF Co-founder Dr. Tina Sloan Green and Husband Frank Green , Jr., were out & about at the Bringing Everybody Together (Bet) Expo at Logan School. BWSF conducted a pop up Tennis play day. There was a fire engine and a water slide to explore. The petting zoo, book bags & school supplies, fresh vegetables and fruit, pantry staples, City Services Representatives, a cook out, water ice, antique car show, live gospel music performance, a DJ, radio station, free hair cuts, more. Congratulations to Mr. Richard Washington and the BET team for a great community event!

Teamwork makes the dream work! Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) was part of a community’s team effort in helping over 50 youth participate in a new North Philadelphia neighborhood basketball league. BWSF contributed toward the uniform shirts for the youth of the Sphere Of Impact 2 @ 16th Susquehanna Basketball League. When you look good, you feel good about yourself.

 Youth had a productive summer learning the game of basketball and teamwork while staying safe and getting fit.

 The basketball team had its 1st Appreciation/ Participation Day at Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey School—home of newly dedicated basketball courts and renovated playground. BWSF received a message from the League Community Coordinator saying, “The team members were all happy and excited and appreciative! Thanks so much with the Amazing Support for our Youth Families and Community! They (youth) were ecstatic and so Proud--the Reasons for it All!”
